Carlton Sheets' $39 "No Money Down" infomercial was the catalyst for Carol Kostic beginning to invest in Real Estate. In fact, because of her success, she appeared in one of those famous infomercials on coaching programs. From the late 1990's til the "unfortunate downturn" (2008 etc.), she bought, sold, held, managed, created, and invented real estate transactions in Central Florida, ultimately managing 220 doors. Single family, duplex, triplex, vacant land, abandoned restaurant, mobile homes on land, mobile homes in parks, entire neighborhoods, wholesale, retail, partnerships, subject to, private funds, assignments, portfolio loans, Fannie Mae loans, commercial loans.

Then came heartbreak, financial loss, health challenges, and several years of personal "rehabilitation" while she re-created herself and her business activities.

Intrepid, she now mentors and coaches folks who are "stuck" or "on the ledge." She speaks on living an intrepid life and facilitates groups on "compassionate communication." She assists as Singing Grandmother at Native American Church Sacred Circles. She also consults with small businesses and, with her partner, David W. Walker, has created a non-profit, the Healing Haven Inc., to promote personal growth in individuals looking for a better, fuller way to live. Back from spending a lot of time in the West, she is looking at investing in Central Florida with PURPOSE and CREATIVITY.

"We cannot afford to stay stuck in a routine or paradigm that's no longer working for us. We shrivel up, die, get sick, hide, create non-working alliances and behaviors, lose money, time, and happiness. All this is the result when we fight ourselves and our creativeness and are hesitant, even afraid, to stick our necks out," she says. "At any rate, I FOR ONE cannot afford to do that."

"Show up and fail. Show up and shine. Just show up."

She illustrates what this can look like in real estate investing through some wacky, creative, profitable deals she has done: subdividing large lots, consolidating purchases to own a neighborhood to rehab and manage, cop-on-the-block residences, eminent domain windfalls, and progressive private second mortgages on top of portfolio loans.
