What You Missed April 2015 General Meeting
by Rob Earhart
April 7, 2015
SREIA was started 30 years ago to assist in the education of new investors and team them with experienced entrepreneurs. To aid in that endeavor we have invited educators of all types to speak and give seminars to educate our members.
Throughout the years our members have connected with local vendors, lenders, and financial institutions that have aided in their business ventures. Many have worked with and partnered with other members to wholesale, rehab, and retail hundreds of properties.
Since we encourage communication between members, our April meeting was a repeat of our “speed networking” that we created last year. To allow the most efficient communication between members we created two lines sitting facing each other and gave each person 3 minutes to explain what they were looking for, such as funding, houses, contractors, or anything that would help them in their investing business.
Once one side spoke, they switched sides and allowed another 3 minutes for the other side to give their pitch. When the time was up we moved one line of individuals to the right and the end person moved to the beginning of the line.
By doing this we created an atmosphere of communication between the maximum number of members and helped connect as many people as possible in the shortest amount of time. Within an hour we had over 50 people communicating with each other that may never have spoken. It seemed to go so well that they continued past the time allotted and were still there for another hour.
We at SREIA hope the “Speed Networking” was profitable for each of our members and that many quality business connections were established. We also hope to see you at the next meeting, and that you make the connections you need for your success.
